All Quiet On The Western Front was the big winner at tonight's BAFTAs, taking home a total of six awards including Best Film and Best Director for Edward Berger. The Banshees Of Inisherin and Elvis were the runners-up, with four awards apiece.
Martin McDonagh joked about winning the Outstanding British film award for the very Irish The Banshees Of Inisherin, but explained for those not in the know that it's a matter of where the funding comes from, with Film4 playing a key role in supporting the production.
In an awkward moment which will remind viewers of that Oscar incident, the winner of the award for Best Supporting actress was initially announced as Carey Mulligan, for She Said, by the sign language interpreter at the event, but was subsequently corrected to Kerry Condon for The Banshees Of Inisherin.
