Sandra Bullock cop film interrupted by stabbing

Officer on set helps seize suspect.

by Jennie Kermode

Filming on Sandra Bullock's new film The Heat was interrupted today when a violent incident took place beside the set on Malcolm X Boulevard, Boston. A struggle took place between a group of young men in which three were stabbed. One, believed to be in his mid teens, died from his injuries and the other two are in critical condition in hospital.

The incident was witnessed by crew members working on the film. Local people rushed to give aid to the victims and a police officer supervising the film shoot helped to chase down the suspect, who was successfully apprehended.

The shooting follows another dramatic incident in which a bus crashed into a trailer being used by the film crew, injuring 14 passengers.

The Heat sees Bullock play an FBI agent on the trail of a Russian gangster, and is due to be released next year.
