The nominations for this year's Oscars were announced today, and way out in front already is The King's Speech, with an impressive 12 nominations. Black Swan and The Kids Are All Right are also looking strong. As last year, the Best Picture category includes ten films - all the big names you'd expect are there, but there's also a nod to Toy Story 3, only the third animated film to be included in this category, while edgy indie picture Winter's Bone is a surprise outsider, also receiving a Best Actress nomination for Jennifer Lawrence.
"My recommendation to anybody who wants to get an Oscar nomination is: work with David Fincher. It was just a triumph of teamwork," said Aaron Sorkin, thrilled with The Social Network's success, with Geoffrey Rush, who received a Best Supporting Actor nomination for The King's Speech, said "I'm as excited to be recognised and honored by the Academy as my character must have been when the future King Of England happened to pop by one day."This year's ceremony will be held on 27 February, with Anne Hathaway and James Franco presenting the awards.
