Sophie Charlotte Rieger

Based in Berlin Sophie writes for several German outlets, mostly online. You can find her reviews on kino-zeit.de, kritiken.de and her blog filmosophie.com She also writes a feminist column, analysing mostly Hollywood's ideas of femininity and desperately trying to convince her readers of the misrepresentation of gender and female sexuality in movies. Being a quite contradictory character, Sophie also likes to write about religion, porn and movies for young audiences.

If asked for her favourite movies, Sophie will say something like Dance Of The Vampires by Roman Polanski or Monsieur Hulot's Holiday by Jacques Tati. The sad truth is that she will always choose a cheesy movie over a classic, crying rivers over Forrest Gump or dreaming of her teenage years with the Twilight movies (which is not feminist at all, so shhhh!).
