Loast

With a giant spanner down the back of the sofa, a bowl of soup under the pillow and books in the fridge, Loast is teasing a little of the surreal into the simplest of activities – getting ready to go out on the town.

The man (Russell Miller) is dressed in a suit and tie. He’s adding the finishing touches with hair gel when he realizes he doesn’t have his wallet. The search begins, uncovering the oddest of items.

Stuart Condy’s film is well made and performed, although lacks a satisfactory punch line – emphasis on punch – and yet shows considerable promise, as well as that rarest of gifts, a sense of humour.
