A wall can't speak
can't move
can't attack you in the night
A wall divides people
A wall protects people
A wall is where cats sit
A wall is the solid section between two gates
A wall is a statement

"This film was made on the day Britain and America invaded Iraq."

A wall is protest
A wall is pretentious
A wall keeps out hyenas

Jenny Keys photographs feet, shoes and eyes. A girl washes up, with her stockings around her ankles. Another walks in waste ground. Another leans against the wall, with fear in her eyes.

A wall can't stop the rain
can't stop Americans
can't save your life

Louise Knowles wrote the script. No one speaks. A gun goes off, signifying the death of innocence.

A wall is a film
A wall is opaque
A wall is the symbol of oppression

There's nothing left at the end, except intimations of mortality.
