Rabid Rider

After a bumpy start, when perhaps too much attention was focused on mirroring Chuck Jones' celebrated work rather than exploring the potential of the new medium, the 3D adventures of Wile E Coyote are now definitely up and running. This time around our (anti)hero has purchased a Segway which he hopes will get him closer to that delicious yet speedy Road Runner.
Of course, things don't quite go to plan. Cue the usual series of crashes, smashes and falls - to which 3D is eminently suited.
3D aside, this is also one of the better written Road Runner cartoons, successfully subverting expectations on several occasions. The central device is inventively used and Wile E Coyote's bad luck with physics plays out in logical but unexpected ways.
The pacing perhaps detracts a little from the angst and grim determination that can make him such an appealing character, but there's plenty of schadenfreude to make up for it, and a cute ending to boot. Well worth three minutes of your time.
