The Lord works in mysterious ways and, so it would seem, does the Virgin Mary. Normally given to a bit of light weeping in churches, or a miracle or two at Lourdes, what would happen if she put in an appearance in the kebab grease on the back wall of a Turkish takeaway in London?

Based on this simple, if somewhat fantastical premise, this film deftly explores the relationship of Christian Luka (Aleksandr Mikic) and his best pal Samir (Alki David), who is Muslim.

The plot is secondary to the character exploration, something of a miracle itself these days and a welcome change.
