He became on overnight star in 1987 with Flight Of The Navigator, but now Deleriyes Joe Cramer has hit the headlines for a different reason - he's been charged with four offences in connection with the robbing of a bank. Cramer, now 42, was arrested in Gibsons in the Canadian state of British Columbia and charged with offences including robbery and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police are still seeking information about the crime which took place in the town of Sechelt and involved a man wearing a dark jacket with a red design along with a shoulder length wig and a bandana. Several of their officers have identified this an as Cramer, having dealt with him recently in relation to another incident. He is known to have been in trouble in the past for cashing fake cheques.

Cramer will face a hearing at North Vancouver Provincial Court next Tuesday.

The arrest recalls an incident in June last year when Star Wars: The Phantom Menace child star Jake Lloyd was involved in a high speed car chase with police. Lloyd subsequently blamed his childhood fame for causing him to lose control of his life.
