Elizabeth Taylor is dead

Screen icon passes away from heart failure.

The legendary star Dame Elizabeth Taylor passed away this morning at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Famous for films such as Cleopatra, A Place In The Sun and Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, she was also well known for her pioneering AIDS charity work, her fabulous wardrobe and her eight marriages.

Taylor had previously survived a brain tumour and a broken back. She was 79.
