Eye For Film >> Movies >> The Treatment (2015) DVD Review
Complex crime thrillers make a great choice for home viewing because there's always more to discover when watching them again, and The Treatment is no exception. Indeed, its subject matter means it has such a powerful impact when first scene that many people may find they need to return to it to unravel other aspects of the story. The presence of four deleted scenes adds to that an also, as they are embellished with notes, provides some insight into how the production team developed the plotting and structured a film that has considerably more twists and turns than the average big screen hit.
In addition to this, an interview with director Hans Herbot provides insight into the development of the film and the ideas behind it, which go considerably beyond what was supplied by the original novel. There's also interview footage from the première which includes substantial contributions from key cast and crew members. Finally, there's the theatrical trailer, plus a selection of further trailers for films from the same distributor - some of these are very good so it's a handy opportunity to check them out.
All in all this is a great package of extras rounding out one of the year's strongest films.
