Eye For Film >> Movies >> The Skull (1965) Blu-Ray Review
This classic slice of Amicus horror makes a great addition to any fan's collection, bringing together some of the era's greatest stars. It's a film full of intriguing background details which can really only be spotted in repeat viewings. Alongside the film are two interviews: Jonathan Rigby provides a history of the studio with a remarkable amount of depth for the time taken; and Kim Newman talks passionately about his love of the era and his frustration with mainstream critics who won't make the effort to let themselves be scared.
There's also a gorgeous collector's edition booklet here which supplies further background about the film along with international promotional artwork (under several different titles) and clippings from the time of release. It's a really nicely produced item that will give a lot of pleasure to fans.
Editor's note: our system limits us to listing things as DVD or Blu-ray. This is dual format.
