Read Owen Van Spall's film review of The Life And Adventures Of Nicholas NicklebyPicture and sound quality are crisp and given it is a 1940s film, probably the best this will ever be until the Bluray.
The extras are generous and quite involving, including interesting interviews with the BFI's Dickens On Screen season curators, Adrian Wootton and Michael Eaton. Dickens biographer Michael Slater also is interviewed.
George O Nichols’ 1912 silent film of Nicholas Nickleby is also included and is the gem in the extras, along with the original trailer and a stills gallery.
