Read Keith Dudhnath's film review of The Fast Show LiveMost live comedy shows on DVD looks like they've been shot by an audience member with the cheapest camcorder available. The source material of The Fast Show Live is of a far higher quality, but still could easily pass for a video tape. There are no problems with the transfer, just the source material. It should be noted that it was shot in 4:3, rather than being pan-and-scan.
The audio is adequate, with no complaints in the transfer from source. It's just stereo, and given the content of the DVD, it might as well have been mono. The subtitling is competent. Given that the disc is devoid of extras, it's a shame that a little bit of effort wasn't made to provide some foreign language subtitles, or audio tracks.
Scene selection is umm... scene selection. Nothing more, nothing less.
If you can get the video cheaper, you might as well go for that.
