Eye For Film >> Movies >> The Criminal (1960) DVD Review
Aside from a stills gallery, the main extra here is a commentary track from film critic Kat Ellinger. It's a little bit on the academic side, but offers a solid grounding in the background to the film and situates it well within the body of Losey's work. It's particularly interesting when she talks about star Stanley Baker's friendship with actual criminal Albert Dimes and the research that the actor and Losey did to make the prison scenes authentic.
A bit less name-checking and a few more anecdotes like these would have been welcome, but it's nevertheless a thorough guide.
