Eye For Film >> Movies >> Plan B (2009) DVD Review
The 30-minute making of documentary is exhaustive in charting Plan B’s history, from its conception to premiere; and exhausting, in the sense that it is mostly made from subtitled talking heads-style interview footage, albeit from a wide variety of cast and crew. There is a lot of information for the most intrepid fan but it is visually pretty dull. The 10 minutes of English language interviews is similar to the making of and covers much of the same ground.
The short film Una Ultima Voluntad (A Last Wish) is a nice addition to the DVD. Directed by Marco Berger and starring Manuel Vignau and Lucas Ferraro, Una Ultima Voluntad is a smart and macabre-yet-tender little film about the execution of one man and his last wish to the authorities – a kiss. The deleted and alternative scenes are mostly expositional scenes with Bruno and his friend Victor (Damián Carducci) and seem unnecessary to the film. A slideshow photo gallery completes this pretty decent Network DVD package.
