Ocean Waves

The Ocean Waves DVD comes with no extras beyond a trailer in Japanese, which is a shame as some background on Studio Ghibli’s earlier days and the development of this experimental film would have been welcome.

The transfer and audio are fine, and the English subtitles are built in. There is, however, no specificEnglish audio dub, which can often massively assist in viewing an anime feature, given the culture gap between the West and Japan. The menu screens are also unremarkable. This has the feel of a rushed-out back-catalogue release.
