Eye For Film >> Movies >> Night Shift (2000) DVD Review
Being widescreen, the picture is letterbox. The colour is iffy, but the Dolby sounds fine. The filmographies of Philippe Le Guay, Gerald Laroche and Marc Barbe are simply lists of films made, or played in.
Trevor Johnston Film Notes is a six page review, which ends, "The whole film's really about this question. What is a man? How do you become a man? Do you become a man because you have the courage to face violence?" If you're feeling girlie, or don't know where to put your masculinity, read it. Otherwise skip on down to the World Cinema Trailer Reel, which includes snippets of Lars Von Trier's early pretentious stuff - Element Of Crime and Europa - plus The Terrorist, Sex & Lucia, Vacas and The Ingmar Bergman Collection.
If that doesn't do it for you, take a shifty at the trailer for Night Shift, or test out Scene Selection.
