Read Martin Gray's film review of National Lampoon's Animal HouseThe extras are, tragically, more fun than the movie. There's a music video, featuring an entertainingly loud version of Shout, which is played in the film by college band, Otis Day and the Knights. A trivia track tells us such things as the actor who would've played Bluto had Belushi been unavailable (Meat Loaf) and that Richard Nixon was the inspiration for Dean Wormer. The piece-de-whatsit is a short film, Where Are They Now?: A Delta Alumni Update.
Director John Landis rounds up 13 of the film's main characters to show us what's happened to them in the decades since. Their fates are predictable, but the lines aren't bad and it's great fun to see actors brush off their old roles. Oh, and you'll marvel at Verna Bloom's astonishing number of freckles.
