Read Amber Wilkinson's film review of MirrorMask

MirrorMask is visually and aurally stunning. Its DVD transfer more than does it justice. The colours and tones look so spot on that it's a safe assumption director Dave McKean wanted it to look exactly how we see it.

The surround sound mix is equally wonderful. It's never ostentatious, but helps perfectly to bring the audience into the story even more. Subtitling is available on the main feature and the extras, including the commentary.

Many features and commentaries suffer from not having anything worthwhile to say. As MirrorMask places live characters in computer-generated surroundings, there are plenty of fascinating titbits about the film throughout both.

The commentary is slightly better than the feature, as it allows McKean and Neil Gaiman free rein to talk about how the film was made, and they don't disappoint. They're constantly informative without ever being too technical.

A wonderful DVD package.
