Mavis!

A great little film bursting with personality and including lots of music, this is the kind of thing you're likely to watch again and again. The DVD package includes some great extras, apparently leftovers which are just as good as the material in the film but would be difficult to fit in anywhere. There are interviews filling in more of the background of the civil rights struggle in which Mavis and her family were involved, and two further musical performances, including her powerful rendition of We Shall Not Be Moved. There's also a further affectionate tribute to her father, Roebuck Staples. It's a substantial set of extras which fans will love.
