Mankind's Last Stand

Read Jennie Kermode's film review of Mankind's Last StandUnlike many independent films in its genre, Mankind's Last Stand maintains its visual quality on the small screen, with no awkward distortion of CGI effects and with visual effects that work well enough to bear repeat watching. By keeping things simple it has avoided common problems but its battle scenes (or the two daylight ones, anyway) still have the impact fans will be looking for.
Alongside the film is a lengthy and quite detailed Making Of documentary, introducing a team which can't be faulted for enthusiasm and revealing a lot of secrets behind the effects that were once director Raisani's mainstay. There's nothing particularly striking among the deleted scenes but they will still have some appeal to completists.
