Footballers' Wives: Series 3

Apart from some artefacts during a close up on some trees, the picture quality is as good as one would expect from such a recent release. The audio doesn't have any flaws. Being mostly dialogue-based, it never uses the stereo mix to any great effect. Subtitling is available.

There is nearly an hour and a half of extras. Sadly, they're more concerned with quantity than quality. The best of the bunch is the cast interviews, which do contain a few insights into the experience of making the series. They would benefit from hefty editing and, after the first couple, the amount of time still unwatched ticks by interminably slowly.

Hazel Bailey's Earls Park is a tour of some of the sets by actress Alison Newman. Its saving grace is that it's short. It's not bad, but certainly not good.

The outtakes - usually a safe bet as far as extras go - are some of the most boring I've ever seen. "Oh, I've forgotten my lines" is about as funny as it gets. And they go on and on and on and on...

Fans of Footballers' Wives will appreciate having over seven hours of the show for a relatively cheap price. They'll not appreciate extras that do nothing to boost their enjoyment.
