Eulogy

The picture quality is exactly as one would expect for such a recent film; there are no noticeable flaws. It's not the type of film that ever calls upon its surround sound mix - you might as well turn your rear speakers off. Subtitling is available on the main feature, but not the extras. It's fine, bar a couple of minor errors.

Deleted scenes are usually an enjoyable bonus, but here they're simply extended versions of a couple of the weakest scenes in the film. It was the correct decision to trim them down, but that means that there's nothing else in them worth watching. Still, at least the film wasn't just a little bit worse than it was.

The featurette is particularly average. "The script was good." Insert clip from film. "I enjoyed working with [actor's name]." Insert another clip from film. Rinse and repeat for the next five minutes. Nothing more than cheap padding.

It's not often that a trailer is the best extra going. Somehow the trailer manages to make Eulogy look like a good film. The jokes seem funny, the characters seem interesting, the film seems worth watching. It does give away almost every single aspect of the plot, but for once that doesn't matter, as it saves you from watching the film.

A very lazy DVD package of a not very good film. Oh well.
