A beautiful film that deserves to be watched on as big a screen as possible, Estranged, with its layers of mystery, is nonetheless well suited to DVD. It comes with a good selection of features which, for once, don't give away the mot important elements of the plot.

First up, there' an introduction explaining why this film was chosen as one of the first ever releases on the new Frightfest Presents label. There's also a substantial Making Of feature, which co-writer Simon Fantauzzo anticipates will be the worst ever made, something this critic can only wish were true. In fact, despite its rather haphazard construction, it contains lots of interesting material and reveals a lot about the team spirit that drove the work. We see how asserted stunts were performed, including some smaller ones of the sort that viewers often wonder about but that are rarely explained, and we learn more about the location that contributes much of the film's character.

In addition to these extras, there are trailers for the other Frightfest Presents films scheduled for release over the next couple of months: Emelie, Afterdeath, The Sand, Night Of The Living Deb and Some Kind Of Hate.

One thing to note: each extra is recorded at a slightly different volume level so you will need to keep making adjustments if you want to watch them all in a row.
