Dylan Thomas: Return Journey

Read Merlin Harries's film review of Dylan Thomas: Return JourneyThe DVD is presented in a standard 4:3 aspect ratio with stereo sound which has left the DVD with noticeable traces of its VHS origin. The sound and image quality is understandably marred but this does not in anyway detract from what is an immensely enjoyable performance.
Both the Introduction to Dylan Thomas and Return Journey the DVD are provided by Sir Anthony Hopkins. Both of which are very enjoyable and serve to reflect both the director's profound knowledge of and love for the poets work. It is perhaps something of a shame that the opportunity for wider documentary footage was not included but it is perhaps Hopkins' desire to focus on the poet's work rather than his private life that has led to this omission.
