The extras on this DVD are definitely aimed toward the dance enthusiast and focus greatly on the importance of dance in story telling. Every DVD has a commentary and this one is no different, except it has the choreographer/producer/inspiration of the story getting her two bits in, which is a nice change.

The multi angle dance sequences are an interesting idea, but I didn't find them so fascinating to watch. You get to see the same dance from four different angles and switch between them at will. It gets old very quickly.

You can actually tell the entire story of the film in a fraction of the time just by watching the deleted scenes, but again, every DVD has this option these days, so nothing too groundbreaking here.

The two documentaries are the strength of the extras. The first, Baila: A Dance Piece is a fascinating insight into the process of dance and the hard work this film's extensive choreography involves. The second, Inside Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights fills in the background gaps that the film doesn't have time to tell, as well as offering a view of the actors and musicians behind the story.

The only thing I wish had been included was a music video for the Black Eyed Peas song from the film. It kicks ass.
