CSI - Season 2, Part 2

Read Amber Wilkinson's film review of CSI - Season 2, Part 2The overall quality of this print is very good. I couldn't spot any graining or scratching, but as this series is so recent you wouldn't expect any, really. The sound is clear and crisp.
The extras are interesting, but you can't help feeling there is something missing here - namely, the cast. While a tour of the CSI set and its various shooting locations, along with a potted introduction to the various bits of technical machinery used in the plots are fascinating in themselves, they take on a very Open University feel. The techno heads, giving these potted tours, are obviously not used to being in front of the camera and while their knowledge is not in dispute, these segments lack the usual slickness that viewers of American imports are accustomed to.
The Making Of A Hit also lacks input from the cast. While it is good to see top dogs, such as Jerry Bruckheimer, talk about what attracted them to the show, even a small insight from William Peterson or Marg Helegenberger would have been a welcome - refreshing - addition.
Technology is a wonderful thing, but a more rounded set of extras might have done better justice to such a professional series.
