Columbo - Complete Series

Read Jennie Kermode's film review of Columbo - Complete SeriesRepackaged from the 2009 version, this complete set of Columbo episodes retains the cigar-box styling but is better shaped for fitting on the shelf with your other DVDs. Its contents pretty much explain themselves, and are of variable quality, though there are quite a number of brilliant episodes in there and very few poor ones. The accompanying booklet makes it easy to sort through them for the ones you're likely to love most. It also provides a good number of entertaining anecdotes about the background to the series, its star and his numerous big name co-stars. Unless you're a longstanding fan of the series then it's likely that a few of their names will surprise you.
There are no other extras here, but with over 1,600 minutes' worth of episodes to view, it's doubtful whether you could find the time for them.
