Eye For Film >> Movies >> Bye Bye Blackbird (2005) DVD Review
Picture and sound quality excellent – especially the former, recapturing every element of the film’s unique, shadowy look.
But a very frustrating lack of extras - there were none on my review copy and research indicates there is only a teaser trailer and brief gallery on the finished product.
Given Savary’s interesting life and work (he’s also a well-known photographer, whose only other cinema output is some shorts reputed to be equally striking), the stunning aerial sequences and the very impressive cast, some behind the scenes stuff and interviews would have been fascinating. Maybe next time.
