A Swedish Love Story

Read Anton Bitel's film review of A Swedish Love StoryThe 15 minutes of Excerpts From Other Roy Andersson Films illustrate the chronological development of his idiosyncratic style by showing select scenes, in order, from his early features A Swedish Love Story (1970) and Giliap (1975), his bleak short films Something Happened (1987) and World Of Glory (1991), and the feature Songs From The Second Floor (2000).
This serves as an economic primer on this visionary filmmaker - but given that the exact same extra has already appeared on an earlier DVD release of You, The Living (2007), Artificial Eye is evidently not interested in producing new accompanying materials for Andersson's debut. Indeed, they have not even bothered to update this extra with a brief excerpt from You, The Living itself.
Something more on the filmmaker's early career would have been welcome.
